Jonny will be paddling the whole route joined by friends as he travels for shorter sections.

During my 4 years at St Andrews whitewater kayaking has taken me all over the world. My trip last summer to Venezuela opened my eyes to what is possible if you put set your goals high. On return I wanted to do something similar but different. I love Scotland, kayaking and adventure so decided to combine the 3 and sea kayak around Scotland. Many books, talks and adventures later, in May we set off to circumnavigate Scotland!

I started out open boating on a Stramash expedition 5 years ago, then started river kayaking a couple of years later. Paddling in general has been so good to me, I have met so many cool people along the way including Jonny and Amy. The expedition will be ace, I can't wait to start."
Now going into my 3rd year at Dundee University studying Mechanical Engineering I will be kayaking from Oban to Ullapool.

The last time Jonny and I were sea kayaking together, we travelled from Aberdeen to St Andrews. That was 2 years ago, in the summer before I graduated and embarked on a career of contemporary dance. Now that Jonny is leaving uni, it feels good to be doing the next leg of the journey (and the first of many for Jonny) to Glasgow. Having not been in a boat for a couple of years, this should be an interesting trip! I can't wait! I will be kayaking from St Andrews to Glasgow.

My first memory of sea kayaking is one of extreme frustration at not being able to turn my boat. Since then, I can’t say that sea kayaking has been a big
part of my life. However, I’m a keen and experienced river kayaker and love exploring Scotland. I can’t wait to try something completely different, find cool places I’ve never been before, and eat only pesto and pasta for 7 days!
Amy will be kayking from Glasgow to Oban

I'm always up for an adventure, so when Jonny mentioned he was looking for people to join him kayaking around Scotland I couldn't help but say yes! I'm looking forward to exploring more of the Scottish coast and hopefully seeing some wildlife along the way. Having been sea kayaking with Jonny before I know whatever happens we're in for a good trip, despite the seal-riously bad puns and jokes =]
